In tumor pathogenesis and metastasis, defects in apoptosis are essential. They allow tumor cells to overcome nutrient deprivation, absence of growth-stimulating signals, and presence of growth-inhibitory signals, surrounding tissue barriers, hypoxia, oxidative stresses, and host immune responses. Newcastle disease virus is interesting oncolytic agent with promising anti-tumor properties. One of the major anti-tumor properties is apoptotic induction. This study aimed to find out the apoptotic pathway induced by Iraqi strain of NDV, in vitro and in vivo study were conducted to find out that Endoplasmic reticulum pathway is the dominant pathway for NDV in inducing apoptosis.
